UK's Randolph Morris still inelligable

The NCAA and UK are trying to work out whether F Randolph Morris will be elligable this season. This summer, Morris declared for the NBA Draft and singed an agent, but was not picked. He tried to come back and the NCAA said he was inelligable, for now. This is a terrible rule. If a player declares for the draft he should be declared inelligable for the whole season and not allowed to come back at all. This allows the kids to try to go pro but come back to college as a fallback plan. This is a travesty. NCAA President Myles Brand needs to do something about this obsurd rule. They're basically saying "Yeah go pro, but if you're not good enough you can come back to the school who you let down in the first place by leaving early." Take Bracey Wright for instance. If he did not get drafted and tried to come back to IU I would not want him to. If they wanted to leave early, you know their heart isn't at their school so they wouldn't play to their full potential, and would be train wreck and cause problems on the team. This is a terrible rule and something needs to be done about it very soon.

Konerko is sticking with Sox

Chicago White Sox 1B Paul Konerko signed a 5 year, $60 million deal with the reigning champs. Konerko was noted as one of the top free agents this off season. With this signing, the White Sox have a good chance of repeating.

Touchdown Celebrations

On Sunday, after a 54 yard touchdown reception against Baltimore, Chad Johnson pulled off yet another original touchdown celebration. After his score, he ran over to the corner and grabbed an orange pylon and putted the football as if he were Tiger Woods. These celebrations keep getting better and better. And it's not just once every few weeks. Johnson comes up with something original week after week. I can't wait to see what he'll do this week.

Teed-Off

In the Annual Skins game this past weekend, Tiger Woods jokingly said he would never live it down if Annika Sorrenstam out-drove him on one of the holes. This happened on the 3rd hole, and immediately following, Fred Funk dressed himself in a pink dress. Personally, if I were Sorrenstam, I would find this offensive. What are some of your thoughts on this?

Steve Mariucci

The Detroit Lion's fired head coach Steve Mariucci after a very disappointing year. But was all of it his fault? Why is it that every time a team does bad it's always the coaches fault. I believe it is GM Matt Millen's fault. How long has that guy been there? Mariucci's record was 15-28 in Detroit, but Matt Millens is like what 20-68? Come on now, a blind man can see that Millen needs to be thrown out, not Mariucci. Mariucci had no talent to work with. It's Millen who drafts the players. It's Millen who signs them. It's hard to win when you have know players to work with. Joey Harrington can't count on Charles Rogers to be there because he has a drug problem, and all the other receivers are so shakey. Besides Joey Harrington, their best player is Dre Bly, who has a broken hand! It's too bad the Lion's signed Millen to a five year extention. They are only signing their franchise to five more years of misery.

The Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are on pace to do something unprecedented, go undefeated. If they do it would be the first time since the 1972 Miami Dolphins that a team has done so. Yes, they are only 10-0 and still have 6 games left to play in this season, but that still brings up the topic. Bob Griese, the QB of the 1972 Dolphins, said they usually start watching for it when a team gets to 10-0. That time is now and Colts are still going strong. They will try to make it 11-0 Monday night against the Steeler's, quite possibly their toughest match this season.

Roger Federer

The good news is, he is beatable. David Nalbandian pulled off a win in an epic 5 setter with Federer in the Masters Cup at Shanghai 6-7, 6-7, 6-2, 6-1, 7-6. Federer was one win away from tying John McEnroe's single-season match record of 82-3, and extending his own win streak to 36 matches, and winning the Masters Cup for the 3rd year in a row. This is quite possibly one of the greatest upsets in Tennis, and maybe even sports history.

Da Bears

The Chicago Bears cleared QB Rex Grossman to play this Sunday against the Buccaneers. The question is should they? QB Kyle Orton has been playing tremendous, with his team going
7-3 with him starting every one of those games. He has lead them to be first in their conference, something unusual for the Bears. It's been a long time since Chigago has had a tough decision on which QB to start.

Preview: Duke vs. Indiana

Wow. This is the game of the week. Duke's sharp-shooting J.J. Redick and freshman standouts Josh McRoberts and Greg Paulus will visit Assembly Hall in Bloomington this Wednesday. The key for IU will be getting the ball down low to Marco Killingsworth, and relying on Marshall Strickland, Robert Vaden, and an upstart Roderick Wilmont to bring their shooting touch to the game. IU will need to find an answer for Duke's Shelden Williams. He is quite possibly the best big-man in the nation. If IU plays to their full-potential they could very well pull off the upset. We may be hearing the IU fans chanting "O-VER-RAT-ED!"

Indiana Basketball is Back

Marshall Strickland and the Hoosier's will try to make a run at the NCAA Tournament, a feat that has been a distant wish for the Hoosier's the past 2 seasons.

What's up with Michigan State?

If you did not happen to catch Michigan State's embarrassing 22 point loss to Hawaii earlier this week, consider yourself lucky. However, me being an Indiana fan, I found it quite humorous. Michigan State was quite possibly one of the most talked about teams in the preseason, being ranked in the top 5 in numerous polls. They were some people's pick to win the championship. Hopefully if they make it that far they won't have to play a team better than Hawaii. It's one thing to be upset, but by 22 points? Come on now. Yes, they played a great game against Gonzaga, but I guess Hawaii's amazing team wore them out.

Welcome
