More Action in the MLB

Another day, another busy day in the MLB. Boston made a deal with Atlanta in which Renteria will be shipped to Atlanta for 3B prospect Andy Marte. Renteria will fill Furcal's spot, and Marte is supposed to be one of the best up and coming 3B in the league. The Marlins continued their dismantling of their team by letting Todd Jones go. He signed with the Tigers. Long-time Cincinnatti Red faithful Sean Casey has been dealt to the Pirates for pitcher Dave Williams. The Nationals got a major upgrade by acquiring 2B Alfonso Soriano for OF Brad Wilkerson. But the one thing that has got my panties in a jumble has been what the Cardinals did, or didn't do rather. They did not offer arbitration for 2B Mark Grudzielanek or OF Reggie Sanders. This upsets mainly because these two were intrigal parts of their dominating team they had this year. If you know me at all, which not many of you do, you will know I am a HUGE Cardinals fan. Nothing upsets me more than when they let go hardworkers like Sanders and Grudzielanek. Grudzielanek was one of the nice surprises the Cardinals had this year, and I was looking for great things to happen with him next season. To top it off they fill those holes with Aaron Miles and Larry Bigbie. I mean no disrespect to these ballplayers, but let's think now. They are no Mark Grudzielanek or Reggie Sanders. I don't know what they are thinking, but I'm just so thankful they didn't let Eckstein go.

Mark Grudzielanek was one of my favorites too. It's really a shame they let him go.
